Recently, cannabis oils have been touted as being a miracle cure for various forms of cancer, if taken properly. While we make no claims that marijuana is a miracle cure for cancer, there have been a number of studies that show that, if not a miracle cure, marijuana is quite effective for treating cancer and the symptoms from cancer.
As with any kind of medication, marijuana is highly subjective to the user and certainly will not have the exact same effects on every person. If you are considering using cannabis to treat cancer, we highly recommend reading some articles and studies first so that you can make a well-informed decision. Below we have attached some links for your consideration.
In 2003, Rick Simpson was diagnosed with basil cell carcinoma skin cancer. After unsuccessful surgery attempts, he began producing a highly concentrated oil made from cannabis flowers called Phoenix Tears, or RSO (Rick Simpson Oil). He used isopropyl alcohol to remove the resin from dried plants, making a very thick, molasses-like substance which he then applied onto the spots on his skin. Allegedly, using this method, he was able to shrink his tumor and cure his cancer.
Phoenix Tears can be applied to the skin topically or orally ingested. If being used as a cancer treatment, it is recommended the patient consume 60 grams of oil in a 90 day period. The patient should start by using a very small portion of the oil (roughly the size of a grain of rice) and apply it to the inner lip where it can be quickly absorbed. The patient should increase the dosage as they become more comfortable with the psychoactive effects, eventually being able to consume a full gram of oil in one day.
